We're Having an Amazing Season!

Mammoth is experiencing a REALLY BIG winter! We have received an amazing amount of snow with more to come. According to Mammoth Mountain, we have received over 500" of snow to date, breaking the season snowfall total! With more storms anticipated that total should only increase. It is the perfect time to come up and ski!

Santa is Bringing Us Some Snow for Christmas!

Happy Holidays! The weather forecast is calling for more snow this Christmas weekend! Mammoth Mountain is looking great for skiing and snowboarding with all lifts and trails open!

Come Up and Ski!

Mammoth Mountain is currently operating 11 lifts with access to 35 runs and 2 terrain parks. However, chairlifts may be on hold due to wind and weather. New rails and boxes have been added to Main Park and Forest Trail, there are freestyle features for all skill levels to enjoy. Make your way over to the newly opened High Five Express and Gold Rush Express! We are anticipating heavy snow Thursday and Friday, which should make for a great ski weekend!

Holiday Festivities in Mammoth!

Mammoth Mountain is kicking the holiday season off with helmet decorating, letters to Santa, photos and rides with Woolly, ornament making, live music and much more. Thanksgiving dinners will be held on Thanksgiving.  And come to the Village on Nov. 25th at 5:30 pm for a free concert by Sweet Thing in the plaza, followed by a tree lighting ceremony with Woolly and Santa. Get your picture taken with Santa inside Mammoth Sports at 7. On the 26th, Master Blaster will play in the plaza starting at 3:30 pm as well as pictures with Santa and Woolly. Come visit, ski, and enjoy our holiday festivities.

Mammoth Mountain Opens!

Mammoth Mountain is opening day is November 10th! Come to Broadway Express at 7 am for free coffee and hot cocoa, a beer toast at 11 am on the Main Lodge Sundeck, and drink specials at Tusks Bar. Let's celebrate the ski season has begun!

Fly to Mammoth!

Alaska Air has changed their visibility requirements for Mammoth Airport which means flight cancellations should drop dramatically. The change will go into effect November 10, just in time for the season opening weekend at Mammoth Mountain Ski area. So now is a great time to book that flight for Mammoth!

First Storytelling Festival

The Mammoth Museum at Hayden Cabin will be presenting the first Storytelling Festival on Saturday, September 24 with "Tales of the Sierra". The festival begins at noon and will continue until 4 pm along the banks of Mammoth Creek. Talented, local storytellers will be sharing unique and amusing tales for all ages. It will be the last chance for visitors to see the current museum exhibits before the Spring 2017 reopening.

Humphrey's Basin Backpack Trail Stewardship Project

Join Friends of Inyo and the Sierra National Forest in the John Muir Wilderness August 23-27 for a multi day restoration project. Help protect the Legged Frog at Golden Trout Lake by restoring campsites that infringe upon their habitat. Expect a moderate hike, three days of work, and beautiful views of the backside of Mt. Humphrey.

Shakespeare in the Woods, Aug.11-21st

Come visit and see Sierra Classic Theatre's Shakespeare in the Woods. This summer's production, "The Merchant of Venice" is featured against the backdrop of the 1869 western railroad town of Venice, Wyoming. Performances are Thursday through Sunday, Aug. 11-14 and Aug. 18-21 at 6 pm at Sam's Wood Site. Shows are free with a suggestion donation of $15. 

Food an Wine Experience, July 15th and 16th

The Mammoth Food and Wine Experience will take place July 15th and 16th at the Edison Pavilion in Mammoth. The event will include Saturday's Grand Tasting featuring  nearly 20 wineries pouring 100 plus exceptional wines. Six local fine dining restaurants will present their best dishes. The event will feature an auction to benefit the Mammoth Lakes Foundation and a wine walk. Come up and enjoy this event!
